The main points in the career of the former MVP – one of the most exciting players of the era.
Derrick Rose was selected under the number 1 in the NBA draft in 2008.
Rose met all expectations right away, becoming the first Chicago player after Michael Jordan, who managed to score 10 or more points in first 10 games of the career. As a result of the month, Derrick was recognized the best rookie in the Eastern Conference.
During the All-Star Weekend 2009, Rose won the Rookie Skills Challenge.
Derrick finished his debut season, averaging 16.8 points and 6.3 assists, becoming the rookie of the year in the NBA.
During that season the Bulls won 41 games and reached the playoffs with the 7 place, losing to Boston in a hard 7 game series. Rose finished the playoffs with a stat line of 20-6-6, scoring almost 50% of all shots in the game.
The following season was similar to the previous one. The team won 41 games and reached the playoffs but lost in the first round again. This time to Cleveland.
In the same year Rose was first selected to participate in the All-Star Game.
In next January Rose made his first triple-double in his career — 22 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in the game against Memphis.
A bit later Derrick was chosen as the starting point guard in the 2011 All-Star Game.
Chicago finished the season with the best result at the East — 62 wins and 20 defeats. As a result of the season Derrick Rose was named the best player in the League, becoming the youngest MVP in history, averaging 25.0 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds.
In the playoffs the Bulls first defeated the Indiana.
In the third game of the series, Derrick scored 44 points and made 7 assists.
The team reached the Conference Finals, losing again to LeBron 4-1.
In the 2011-2012 season Rose played only 39 games due to injury. In the 1st match of the playoff series against Philadelphia, Derrick was terribly injured, tearing the cruciate ligament of the left knee.
Rose missed the whole season 2012-2013 because of this injury.
Derrick came back in the 2013-2014 season, but after 10 games he got another injury, this time of his right knee. The player was diagnosed a meniscus tear. Rose decided to skip the rest of the season in order to fully recover by next year.
In the 2014-2015 season Rose managed to play 51 games only, but the team went into the playoffs, having 50 wins.
In the first round Bulls without any problems won Milwaukee. In the third match Derrick scored 34 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. The meeting ended with the victory of Chicago in the second overtime 113-106.
After beating Bucks, Rose got under LeBron James for the third time in his career.
In the third meeting of the series (it historically is somehow the most successful for Rose) with the score 96-96, Derrick made a difficult game-winning shot through the hands of Tristan Thompson.
Chicago took a 2-1 lead in the series.
The Bulls was losing the next match after LeBron’s winning shot.
Despite all efforts, the team lost in the series with the score 4-2 and was knocked out of the NBA playoffs.
In the 2015-2016 season Chicago could get only 42 wins. The team did not enter playoffs, and in summer Rose was transferred to New York.
In the Knicks Derrick had his best season after returning, averaging 18 points. As expected, the Knicks did not appear in the playoffs. In summer Rose left the team.
In the off season, player concluded a one-year contract with the Cleveland.
Because of the constant injuries, Derrick played for the Cavaliers only 7 games. On November 24 Rose left the team, and is seriously thinking about the end of his sports career.
